Fighting For Your Story

Episode #55

Because of the influence of society, we tend to hide our true self in a story. We become part of a story that will eventually consume us and will make us forget our true identity.

We are scared that people will come to know our flaws and weaknesses so we hide in these false stories until we become stuck in it.

We become blinded by the comfort that we get from hiding in these stories that we don’t realize how much these stories are no longer serving us.

To find out if you’re stuck in a story, you first need to be aware of what is true to you and spot the pattern. Talk to people and share your weakness and vulnerability. This allows people to know the REAL you and understand you.

Ask for advice from people who have gone through what it is you’re going through because these are the people who will understand your situation better than anyone.

Detach yourself from the story and see what is really true to you, your true identity and re-align with that every day.

What you will learn in this episode:

  1. How to not let your stories consume you
  2. How be true to yourself
  3. Why our stories should serve us to our highest being
  4. The power of sharing your weakness and vulnerability to let people in
  5. Why you should not let yourself stay stuck in the stories that you are in.

Why We Fight For Our Excuses & How To Stop It

Episode #54

We are living in a land of comparison. We often compare ourselves to our future selves or we compare ourselves to a greater person than who we are.

When we start to think that we should be farther ahead than who and where we are now, we begin to feel so much pressure and end up beating ourselves up which can lead to depression.

We compare ourselves to other people that surround us and when we feel that we are lesser compared to that other person we start feeling frustrated. We end up escaping from reality through food, addiction, pornography, social media, etc.. Society is giving us this paradigm that if you do this, you will become like that.

It is important to note that it is not our fault for being in this kind of situation but we DO have control over it. We just need to be self-aware.

It becomes your fault when you become aware of it but you still continue to give your power away. If you feel that the rules dictated by society do not fit your desires, you have to start questioning in order to make a change.

Do not force yourself. Set a goal and enjoy the whole experience starting from the beginning until you reach the endpoint. The whole journey may not be all good but allow the growth to occur and just enjoy each moment.

Do not avoid the energy or emotion that shows up for you. Let these emotions serve as a fuel and learn the lessons that show up. Navigate your way into acceptance and gratitude for what’s coming instead of forcing your way out of it.

Take all the insights and break the cycle.

What you will learn in this episode:

  1. We have power over the rules dictated by society.
  2. How to reach your goals without attacking it forcefully.
  3. How to allow yourself to grow while reaching your goal.
  4. How to appreciate where you are and what you do right NOW by using all the insights you will learn along your journey for you to succeed in getting to your end goal.

How To Navigate Relationship Growing Pains [Part 2]

Episode #53 (Part 2 of a 2 Part Series)

When we’re upleveling, our trajectory is going up but at some point we reach the plateau level and we tend to get comfortable.  That’s when this level becomes our norm.

While we’re in this space, we don’t realize that we’re starting to slip back into some of our old habits and old ways. Instead of regressing backwards it’s important we take a real look at this and put in the work to grow into the next phase.

Like in every relationship, losing that spark in the relationship is a reflection of how you feel about YOURSELF. We become too comfortable in the relationship that we forget to work on it.

Building a relationship is a continuous process that should be upleveling and require hard work and effort.

In this episode, we talk about HOW to reignite your relationship when you’re in this place. First and foremost it should start within you. We always create that romantic view of the other person yet we are not creating that romantic view of ourselves for our partner.

Improving the status of the relationship should start by improving how you see yourself first. We talk about a few ways to do this – meditate, always groom, look good and bring home that level of attractiveness in order to seduce your partner.

Do the things together that you both enjoy doing. Surround yourself with people you who you can confide with. Find the pattern and close the gaps in the relationship if there is any and it will give you a direct line to where you want your relationship to be.

In this episode you will learn:

  1. How improving how YOU see yourself helps reignite the relationship
  2. The importance of being surrounded with people who you can confide with
  3. How stress, anxiety, and jealousy is created

How To Navigate Relationship Growing Pains [Part 1]

Episode #52 (Part 1 of a 2 Part Series)

In this 2-part episode, Tim shares his recent experience in his relationship with his partner and how this experience helped build up their relationship to be stronger and deeper.

We sometimes have this feeling of not being desired or loved in our relationship and we tend to expect something from our partners in order to reignite the intimacy. We put a number on the love that we are receiving from our partner without even realizing it.

In this episode, we explore how you may be making her feel frustrated because she doesn’t know anymore what to do for you to feel loved and desired in spite of going all out in the relationship. What we feel is not a reflection of the relationship but it is a reflection of how we feel about ourselves.

Doug and Tim walked through how he was projecting some of the gaps he felt within himself onto the relationship. Wanting his partner to fix it but in reality, it is only him who can fix it.

Track your effort or performance in the relationship to see if it might actually be you isn’t putting in the effort to keep the relationship on fire.

In this episode you will learn:

  1. How relationships should not be numbered
  2. How you feel is not a reflection of the relationship, it is the reflection of yourself in the relationship.
  3. The importance of having a clear communication in fixing or saving a relationship

Your Outer World is a Reflection of Your Inner World

Episode #50

As apart of growing up, we have all been exposed to external influences like our society. The norms and standards have been programmed in our minds and being unable to meet them will make us feel frustrated and overwhelmed.

We start to feel that we are not good enough and we get tired trying to constantly fit in and meet the requirements set by society.

Society taught us that money would make us happy and that we should hustle in order to become successful and if we are successful we will get everything we want including love and respect. This idea becomes our marker of being successful and not being able to do this will make us feel not good enough.

What we do next is we grind harder thinking that the answer is to “do better” and as the cycle continues with the result of feeling even more tired and frustrated. Falling into this bait ends up making us feel more empty and alone. While we get busy hustling to make money, we don’t realize that we start losing our relationships, forget our priorities and push aside the things that really matter in our lives.

Break the cycle, reprogram your mindset and priorities and reflect on what is really going on inside you. Acknowledge that there is a problem, take ownership and make a change.

Raise your standards because what happens in the external is a complete reflection of your standards.

In this episode you will learn:

  1. What triggers the feeling of not being good enough
  2. The influence of external factors on how we live our lives
  3. How our standards reflect what happens around us
  4. The importance of reprogramming our mindset and priorities
  5. The importance of raising our standards

The Blame Game

Episode #49

When business owners feel that they are not good enough and they don’t have control over their lives and businesses it transmutes to the people around them. When they feel uncertain, people in the workplace will feel the sense of unease of not being led confidently.

When you feel that you are not enough, you tend to hustle because you think that you should be doing more and better. Hustling, which is frantic energy, will be felt by the people around you and nobody wants to be around someone with frantic energy. If this cycle continues you will eventually feel empty inside, burnout and will experience broken relationships.

Instead of blaming others for the things going on around you, which is a trap many of us fall into, focus on addressing your own issues first. Take a moment to look into where you fell short and do something about it. Find out what triggers you to feel that way about yourself, acknowledge it and do something about it.

In this episode you will learn:

  1. That how you feel about yourself affects the people around you.
  2. How to look into what triggers that feeling of not being enough and acknowledge it.

How to Seduce Your Wife

Episode #48

In this episode, Tim and Doug share some ways they are seducing their partners.

As the man, you should be the one to take the lead and make your partner feel seen and desired. But…how exactly can you do that? This is a topic that comes up often at The Alpha Reset.

The first key is that you should know your partner’s love language and give her love the way she wants to receive it…not just the way you like to give it. Prioritize spending quality time with her and make her feel provided for emotionally by the man she loves (you).

Focus on making her feel special by doing the things that will make her happy regardless if you don’t get anything in return. This shows that you are doing it out of commitment and a desire to uphold your role as a man in the relationship.

In this episode, we dive into the trap many men fall into…the transactional relationships. Seducing your partner shouldn’t be transactional but should be purely out of love. Showing both your strength AND vulnerability to your partner will make her feel more secure…deepening your connection on every level.

In this episode you will learn:

  1. Ways to seduce your wife
  2. The importance of seduction being done purely out of love
  3. What a transactional relationship is
  4. How to make your partner feel desired
  5. Your role as a man

How to End Self-Sabotage

Episode #47

That feeling of emptiness…no matter how hard you try…is always a result of your unconscious commitments.

Unconscious commitments, as defined in this episode, are the things occurring in our lives as repeating patterns that we do not like. If we do not identify these patterns or beliefs that we are unconsciously committed into, it will result in self-sabotage.

A work ethic that is instilled in us is to work hard to be more successful. As a result of an unconscious commitment to this belief, we end up hustling and sacrificing our relationships or personal happiness. We struggle and grind to make more money, believing that this will enable us to prove ourselves to other people that we can also make it. Instead of using or spending money to show off, we should invest it for our personal growth and focus on what will really make us happy.

To end self-sabotage, we should identify the patterns or beliefs that are already programmed into our minds. We should reflect on what we really feel, acknowledge it, and take radical steps to make a change. We get to reprogram these unconscious commitments and change them into more empowering beliefs.

What you will discover in this episode:

  1. What an unconscious commitment is
  2. How unconscious commitments result in self-sabotage
  3. What to do in order to end self-sabotage
  4. How to reprogram your mind from these unconscious commitments
